- How sad...that a company just keeps making crappy tools but will replace them for a 'lifetime'. I wish I could say I was shocked, but they stopped making quality tools when things began being outsourced to other countries. Same story with Craftsman tools and Kenmore vacuums of the past 20 yrs!
- Kobalt is Lowe's answer to Home Depot's Ridgid, but not really. In head to head comparisons, Kobalt tools consistently under perform.
- I have a different model of these cutters from Kobalt. It works great. I have another brand as well that works great. Not sure what is wrong with that one. I am not sure if you got a lemon or if that particular model is not good.

Did you actually try rotating the pipe as you cut?

- Thanks ETH, I wish I saw this video before I bought it.... sure enough after the 4-5th cut there was damage on the blade EXACTLY like yours and after the 8th cut A chuck of the blade broke off, and I was cutting 3/4" Sch 40 PVC!!! Good News (if you can call it that) - Those who already bought this, I called Customer Service and they said it has a lifetime Warrenty (since the blades are not for sale). You can take the tool back to Lowes without a reciept and they will swap it out with a new one. Hope this helps along with the video for a solution.
- I completely agree -- this blade is a piece of garbage. I think the design except for the blade is pretty good -- though he's right -- it veers, but that might be a function of how the blade is horrible. I can't find my receipt and don't have the packaging so we'll see what Lowes will do. Really lousy product.
- Thanks for the video. I was looking into buying a PVC cutter but I know better than to waste my money on the Kobalt cutters.
